I made this hat and star blanket for my niece's 1st birthday. and they are soo cute!!! :) and I am super happy with the end look!!!

modeled by my daughter
this hat was super easy to make and worked up super fast! it's called the cluster V stitch hat and you can find it here, at bobwilson123-youtube channel.

the flower is not a part of the hat tutorial.
here is how I did that flower:
with a I/5.5mm hook
ch 5 join with the first ch. to make a ring
ch 2, 10 dc into ring. sl st into the top of ch 2.
ch 4, skip one st & sc into the next st. x5. sl st into sc ch 3, and make 4 dc's into the ch 4 space ch 3 and sl st into sc. repeat until flower is made.  (if this is you flower pattern please tell me so I can give you credit. I use so many diff flowers that I for get some times where I have seen it)

this star blanket was also super easy and fast to make! and it is super cute!! I have a few thing's to make for my cousin who is having a baby and I will be making this blanket again!!! and  you can find it here, on mikeyssmail- youtube channel.

if you make ether one of these I hope you love making them as much as I have!

and a big old button to match :D

First what you want to do is decide what you want to do with you're towel if you are cutting in half or folding it in half.  If you are cutting your towel in half you will need to fold over the hem line and put it though your sewing machine or hand sewing it is just as fine you don't have a machine.  If you are folding it in half move on to the foundation row.

Row 6: ch2 1dc decrease into the next 2sts, dc into the next 4sts. dc decrease into the next 2sts. dc into the
next 2sts. then end with a dc decrease.

Row 7: ch2, dc into the next 3sts. dc decrease into the next 2sts(4-5). dc into the next 3sts.

Row 8-18: ch2, dc into every st a crossed. (I have about 8 sts.)

the tst makeup the button hole.

Weave in ends and add button and your towel is ready to use! hope you like this!

Home made finger paint!!!

now I know this has nothing to do with knitting nor crochet. But I had to share this!!! This recipe is for home made finger paint, only takes water, cornstarch, sugar (yes I said sugar!!) salt and food coloring!!! I found this home made finger paint some time ago, but never really made it before today . I was sitting here thinking it's almost 80* where I live in the middle of march when there is usually mountains of  SNOW!!! So I tough why don't I try the home made finger paint!?! I can undress the kids to their undies and let them paint and when they are done they can have a bath and it cools them down at the same time!!!

what you'll need :
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar
1 cup cold water
and last but not least food coloring!!!

First you'll want to put water, cornstarch, sugar and salt into a small pot. cook over low heat for 10 minutes while stirring constantly. The mixture will thin, but will thicken up as you cook (I noticed it wasn't thickening up on the low heat so I turned it up for 20secs and it thickened right up!). when it does take off the heat and let cool. once the mix it all cooled off place in little jars old yogurt cups or even bowels add food coloring and they are read to paint!!!!!!

this is what the finger paint will look like when it is thickened up

containers of your choice

as you can see they love the paint!!!!

lol.......only with finger paint kids can paint their self's!!!

in the words of  lala (in the photo) " I made a rainbow on my belly!!!!"

I hope you all enjoy this as much as we did!!!!!!
